Ion Science ‘Cub’ Personal PID Gas Detector for VOCs, TACs & Benzene

Ion Cub is a PID gas detector that detects down to parts-per-billion levels for fast, accurate detection of volatile organic and total aromatic compounds.

Cub PID Gas Detector - dockedWith unrivalled sensitivity, Ion Cub personal photoionisation detection (PID) gas detector detects down to parts-per-billion (ppb) levels. This standard of personal gas detection gives early warning of exposure to hazardous gases, including benzene.

Ion Cub is an extremely small and light personal PID gas detector, making it comfortable and unobtrusive to wear.

Ion Cub personal PID gas detector has a dynamic range of 1 ppb to 5000 ppm, one of the widest (if not THE widest) on the market, and measures 480 selectable compounds.

Ion Science’s Cub personal PID gas detector is available in two models…

  • VOCs: Standard instrument with 10.6 eV lamp, which accurately detects a wide range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to parts-per-million (ppm) levels. A quick and easy upgrade to parts-per-billion (ppb) sensitivity is available.
  • TACs & Benzene: CubTAC ppm variant with 10.0 eV lamp, which accurately detects total aromatic compounds (TACs), including benzene. A quick and easy upgrade to parts-per-billion (ppb) sensitivity is available.

When worker exposure exceeds pre-set limits, vibrating and flashing LED alarms alert them to the gases present. Readings are displayed on a bright, back-lit LCD display with selectable data logging time.

Cub’s PID sensor technology has been independently verified as best performing for speed, accuracy and humidity resistant operation. Cub’s unique anti-contamination and patented Fence Electrode Technology provide extended run time in the most challenging environments, providing reliable and accurate results.

CubDoc docking stations are also available for USB communication, charging and calibrating your PID gas detector.

Customer Feedback

“Cub is just the product we have been waiting for. It’s a low cost personal and reliable PID gas detector which is just what we need to assess workers exposure out on the field to monitor occupational exposure in the chemical industry. The quality of the product is excellent, along with its simplicity, accuracy, stability, ease of use, and it’s extremely lightweight.”
Vincent Perret, CIH CEO, TOXpro SA

“A colleague has lost his sense of smell in an accident, and the environment in which we work can contain a lot of different organic solutions. We purchased Cub so that harmful solvents could be detected, keeping my colleague safe within his working environment. We chose Cub as it matched all of our requirements, it’s small, easy, direct and can detect low levels.”
Jan van Esseveld, Teamleader, Masterlab BV
